The Netrunner Team is happy to announce the release of Netrunner 26 “Twilight” – 64-bit ISO.
Netrunner 26 is based on Debian Stable 13 (trixie) and ships with all the latest security updates and updated stable software. Netrunner 26 is powered by the Linux 6.16 kernel series, providing optimal hardware support for both existing users and new installations. Debian 13 (Trixie) introduces several significant changes over Debian 12 (Bookworm), with a focus on modernization, security, and improved system stability.
- Hardening against ROP and COP/JOP attacks on amd64 and arm64 platforms.
- New features include spell-checking in Qt WebEngine browsers and support for BDIC Binary Hunspell Dictionary.
- APT now deprecates the old .list format in favor of the modern .sources format (.deb822), and apt modernize-sources automates the conversion.
- /tmp is now stored in tmpfs (RAM), which causes frequent cleanup.
- dpkg warnings about being unable to delete old directories may occur.
