Linux feat. KDE Plasma

Netrunner is a complete Linux Operating System for PCs, laptops/netbooks and even ARM microcomputers, that makes exclusive use of the KDE Plasma desktop environment.

Rock Solid

Netrunner is based on the latest Debian Stable, which makes it rock solid while being supported by one of the biggest open source communities.

Desktop Version

The standard version ships with a full set of pre-installed software for everyday usage. Based on Debian Testing or Manjaro/Arch.

Core Version

A slimmed down version allows you to build up your own system or run it on low-spec hardware like arm-boards. Based on Debian Stable.

High polished

KDE Plasma and apps finetuned for easy and intuitive usage

Great compatibility

Debian is one of the biggest independent FOSS Community, resulting in a huge library of application and software.

LTS version

Debian Stable means Netrunner receives continuous package and security updates.

Plasma finetuning

Netrunner is using KDE Plasma and tuning it to be as snappy and responsive as possible. We actively sponsor development of Plasma’s core and new components are included in Netrunner early on.

Here is how we tweak KDE Plasma compared to a vanilla install:

Using Dash and Simplemenu (Core) as default

Task-Manager with Expanding Icons

Folderview as Desktop – icons on a clean desktop, no overlays

Show Desktop Hot-Spot in lower right corner

Simplified System Settings putting all customizations under Plasma Tweaks

Unified Look for KDE and non-KDE-applications via GTK-Configuration

Shipping GTK apps without client-side decorations, but standard Kwin borders

Calamares installer for easy setup

Advanced dolphin toolbar

Kvantum theme engine

Firefox shipped with Ad-Blocker and Plasma Integration addons

Auto-started KWallet

Double-click instead of single-click

Firefox ESR

Netrunner ships Firefox with the Plasma Integration add-on that allows for download progress bar and media-navigation features under KDE Plasma.

Addons: uBlock Origin and Plasma Integration.
